Submission of abstracts and full papers

Prospective authors are invited to submit an electronic copy of their abstracts (1 or 2  pages long) to BIOMAT 2009 Scientific Program Committee (biomatconsortium2009@gmail.com) by the due date (14th June 2009).  The deadline for the corresponding full papers is 01st July 2009.

The official language is English for abstracts, full papers and oral presentations. In case of a request for presentation in Portuguese or Spanish, the Organization Committee will provide translation by a member of the BIOMAT Editorial Board.

The file format should be LaTeX or RTF, DOC (Windows Word 2000 or higher)

Check for a LaTeX  or Word  template. An additional PDF copy is desirable. Full papers should be submitted with source files.

The first page of the abstract should clearly include:

  • title of the paper
  • name, affiliation, mailing and e-mail addresses of authors

In additon, the first page of the abstract should also include the name of the author who will be presenting the full paper (if accepted) as well as a maximum of 5 keywords.

Evaluation process

  • Each Abstract  will be evaluated by two members of the BIOMAT Editorial Board for originality and significance in a "blind reviewing" process.

  • All accepted abstracts will be published in CD-Rom format which will be delivered to the registered participants.

  • The full papers corresponding to accepted abstracts should be submitted for the final evaluation process.  Each full paper will be also evaluated by two members of the BIOMAT Editorial Board and the Board of Referees for originality, significance, clarity, and soundness in a second "blind reviewing" process. The referees are always researchers in the topical area.

  • The acceptance of any abstract does not imply that the corresponding full paper will be accepted as well.

  • All accepted full papers are expected to be presented at the symposium, in a poster or oral session, according the suggestion of the Board of Referees.

Publication

Only accepted full papers will be considered for publication in the BIOMAT 2009 Proceedings. The BIOMAT Editorial Board / Board of Referees will select among those accepted full papers the ones for publication in the ISBN indexed book "BIOMAT 2009- International Symposium on Mathematical and Computational Biology" -  by World Scientific Co. Pte. Ltd.  Other accepted full papers may be published in another ISBN indexed book by decision of the Board.  There will be also special numbers of indexed journals for publishing selected papers.  The final decision as the publication vehicle of your acccepted full paper is concerned will be taken by BIOMAT Editorial Board/Board of Referees.
